Edwin Markham

Markham's most famous literary work, the poem "Lincoln, the Man of the People" of 1922, was read at the dedication of the Lincoln Memorial.


Markham, a native of the West Coast, grew up on a farm with 5 brothers and sisters. His writing often concerns working class individuals and merges artistry with political commentary.
