The Collection

"The Collection" is the 38th song in Ives's song collection 114 Songs. Ives has labels written over parts of the song, such as "The Organist" written over the piano introduction of the work, "The Soprano" written above the beginning of the vocal line, and "Response by Village Choir" written beside the final line of each verse.

The Collection
by Charles Ives

Now help us, Lord, Thy yoke to wear,
and joy to do Thy will;
Each other's burdens gladly bear,
And love's sweet law fulfill.

O hasten, Lord, the promised days,
When all the nations shall rejoice;
And Jew and Gentile join in praise,
With one united voice!
